Jerry Hill Appointed President of Times Media Services Inc.
September 05, 2008 - Jerry Hill has been appointed president of Times Media Services Inc., a division of The Times Publishing Company, parent of the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times. In addition, Hill will take the expanded title of director of audience and new business development at the Times. Previously, Hill was circulation director.
Gail Whiting Named Director of Advertising for Eugene, Ore. 'Register-Guard'
September 02, 2008 - Gail Whiting has been named director of advertising for The Register-Guard in Eugene, Ore. Whiting most recently served as regional advertising director for Central Virginia Community Newspapers in Central Virginia. She succeeds Michael Raz, who retired in June.

Mike Smith Named M.E. of Spartanburg, S.C. 'Herald-Journal'
August 27, 2008 - Mike Smith has been named managing editor of the Herald-Journal in Spartanburg, S.C. Smith, who most recently served as editorial page editor, will continue to oversee the editorial pages and will also oversee the Herald-Journal's daily print and GoUpstate.com online operations. He succeeds Greg Retsinas.

Rossi, who became director of business operations for AP's Technology department in 2006, has served as acting head of global technology operations since May. He succeeds Nick Evansky.

August 20, 2008 - Rae Kruger has been promoted to editor of the Marshall (Minn.) Independent. Kruger has reported on local government, crime and courts since April 2000. She succeeds Dana Yost, who resigned in June.

Citizen, and also will have regional responsibility for the Cedar Key Beacon and the Willston Pioneer Sun News. Ten Broeck most recently served as publisher of the Franklin County Chronicle and The News Leader in Royston, Ga. He succeeds Dale Bowen.

August 15, 2008 - Ben Sheroan has been named general manager of The LaRue County Herald News in Hodgenvile, Ky., and The Record in Leitchfield, Ky. He most recently served as presentation editor for the News-Enterprise.
Bob Miller Promoted to Editor of 'Southeast Missourian'
August 14, 2008 - Bob Miller has been promoted to editor of the Southeast Missourian in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Previously, he served as managing editor. Miller succeeds R. Joe Sullivan, who held the position for 14 years and will remain on staff as editorial page editor and news consultant.
